2016 Women in Law Hackathon

We Can Work With Just About Any Input To Develop Your On-Demand Module...

1.  Provide content to us in any format you may have.   This could be an audio or video recording of a live program.  Or perhaps only a PowerPoint or PDF on a specific topic.  Sometimes we receive just a collection of bullet points outlining the goals for the program.

Once we receive materials for a specific course, we begin by reviewing the content.  We will then set up a brief call with you to ensure that we understand your goals and objectives. 
2.  Once we have a feel for your program, we will develop a narration-ready script and send the draft to you for review and edit.

We'll even draft associated quiz or assessment questions if you'd like.

Once the script is approved, we will then go into the studio with one of our professional narrators (you can choose your voice) to record and edit the narration track for the module.
3.  Finally, we will develop visual elements to support the content and make it as engaging, interactive and effective as possible.  This could include animation, text, custom graphics, video, speed-drawings, exercises, scenarios and more.

We'll then send you a review link so that you have the opportunity to provide feedback.  Once the module is final, we deliver in a single zip file for placement on your system.

Have a recording of a live presentation?  There are many ways we can leverage that...

We often receive video recordings from live training session (usually recorded on either a firm videoconferencing system or via a recorded webinar).  Many times, the quality of the presented content is excellent, while the actual recording may not be of the best quality (either due to poor recording or a less-than-dynamic presenter). 

Not to worry.  Our Content Team will transcribe the course and then edit the resulting transcript to create a narration-ready script.  Your existing content and internal expertise is leveraged and you have a brand-new learning resource ready to go.

If your recording is of a decent quality, we can edit and include video from the live presentation directly within the elearning module itself - leveraging the audio portion of the recording as the narration track for the whole course. 

Custom FAQs

What kinds of materials can you work from?
We can work from just about anything.  Provide content in any form that you have.  This could be an audio or video recording of a live program, a recorded webinar, a transcript of a video, and/or even a PowerPoint deck or PDF of a policy document.  You might even provide a draft script if you have a pretty solid idea of what you’d like the module to say.   If you have a video recording with good content but maybe not the best recording or presenter, then send it along.  We can transcribe the entire presentation and then rewrite as a script that can then be used (once approved) for narration.  There's really no limit.
What is the typical turnaround time for a CUSTOM SkillBurst?
Turnaround time for any specific project can vary and depends on a few variables:

What state the provided content is in.
If we are provided with an audio recording and associated PowerPoint to work from and can start immediately on development, that’s a very different effort than if we need to create a script from a list of high-level objectives or pull content together from multiple provided sources.

How quickly reviews can take place on your end.
Once we develop an initial script or the first draft of an elearning module, we will send a review link by email so that the appropriate firm stakeholders can review and provide feedback. If these reviews are addressed quickly, that can make the entire project move faster.

What our development queue looks like.
We keep a master development calendar that tracks all projects in development as well as all incoming and expected projects.  The more advanced notice we have regarding an upcoming project, the more likely we’ll be to be able to turn it around quickly.

We'll do our best to meet your project deadline.  We strive to deliver quickly and usually turn projects around in a matter of just a few weeks (again, depending on scope).
How does pricing work?
While you have the option of following a Pay-As-You-Go approach, with an estimate and invoice provided for every distinct project, most of our clients opt to go with one of our SkillBurst packages to take advantage of economies of scale.  You can purchase a package of 10, 25, 35, or 50 SkillBursts, with increasing economies of scale.  The packages cover the Design & Build of SkillBursts. 

Additional SkillBurst services, such as script development, vary from project to project, based on factors such as the quality, quantity, clarity, and duration of the materials provided and the complexity of getting them SkillBurst-Ready.  They are estimated and billed separately.   We're happy to talk through pricing for any project you may consider.  Just give us a call.
Can we provide resources, job aids, checklists, or other materials to embed within the module? 
Yes, providing central access to a variety of related resources is a great idea.  For any resources you’d like to include within the module, we recommend that you host the resources on your intranet and provide us with a the URL (link) to include in the module.  If you ever have a need to edit or update the resource, simply upload the updated document to the same location on your site and the resource links in the module will automatically go to the most recent version. 
What’s the best way to maximize the benefit and minimize the cost of creating a SkillBurst?
Provide us with content that is SkillBurst-Ready.   If you’ve already written a script that is in final form (ready for professional narration), or have already recorded a video or audio narration that is high quality and requires no editing, for example, we can most likely move straight into the Design & Build stage.   The more you do to provide high-quality materials for the SkillBurst, the less that we’ll have to do, and the lower the overall cost of the project will be.
What’s your #1 piece of advice for someone who hasn’t done this before? 
Invest the time to review any narration scripts carefully before you approve it and move to the narration and Design & Build stage.  If there are others in the firm who will need to sign off on the final module, have them review and sign off at the script stage.  The script serves as the foundation for the entire module.   Once the narration is recorded, graphics and animations are created, and the module has been developed, it becomes a more complex effort to make changes.
