New technologies to help improve the health and wellness of your lawyers and staff
Working in the legal profession can be a wonderful and rewarding experience. It can also be a significant source of stress.
A recent survey of AmLaw 200 leaders identified stress as the primary root cause of addiction and mental health problems in law firms. Stress also leads to lower individual productivity, reduced engagement and higher absenteeism. There are many things individuals can do to help manage their stress (see our Fostering Well-Being Series for more on that). One new concept that has proven to be extremely effective is "virtual reality relaxation." |

Answers to frequently asked questions...
How are firms using e-Scape? We're seeing firms using e-Scape to support important well-being initiatives. e-Scape VR headsets are being placed in wellness rooms and similar locations across firm offices. Usually there is an ability to sign-up and reserve a timeslot using the firm's conference room reservation system or simple sign-up sheet. Is the headset difficult to use? Not at all. Just slip it on over your head and look directly at the e-Scape menu to launch your desired experience. (The VR application utilizes eye motion tracking to determine the options you wish to select). What does our IT team need to do to get this in place? There is nothing your IT team will need to do to get e-Scape VR going. The headset is a self-contained unit; It does not require a PC, does not utilize a smartphone and does not require internet access to run the e-Scape app. The only thing it will need is a nearby outlet for occasional recharging. Can we try this before we agree to subscribe? Yes. We realize this is a new concept and it may be hard to picture what the experience is like without seeing it for yourself. If you would like to test e-Scape VR before commiting, we offer a single-unit 45-day "test-drive" for a small fee. |
